Lymphatic drainage after surgery

Manual lymphatic drainage and physiotherapy for swelling, haematomas and scars after plastic, aesthetic or orthopaedic surgery and injuries. Care guided by your assessment, healing stage and surgical instructions.

My approach to your care

I support your recovery carefully, respecting your stage of healing. Your symptoms, goals and privacy are central to my care.

Knee with a healed longitudinal scar and gentle hand contact

What brings you to treatment?

Plastic and aesthetic proceduresFor example liposuction, facelift, neck or eyelid lift, and intensive facial treatments

Swelling, tension and bruising can be troublesome after these procedures. Timing, treatment area and intensity follow the wound condition and surgical clearance.

Orthopaedic proceduresFor example knee, hip, shoulder or foot surgery, including knee or hip replacement

Swelling and bruising can restrict movement after orthopaedic surgery. Lymphological care is coordinated with rehabilitation and the permitted load.

Swelling and bruising after injuryAfter a fall, accident, fracture or prolonged immobilisation

Treatment follows the type of injury, stability and stage of healing. Unexplained or newly increasing swelling needs medical assessment first.

Breast cancer aftercareCare after breast surgery, including breast reconstruction

Acute complications, signs of infection or unexplained symptoms require medical assessment first.

More about your treatment.

Targeted support for recovery.

Postoperative care is clinically assessed and coordinated with your treating doctor when needed.

Discretion is an important part of personal care, especially after plastic and aesthetic surgery. Your privacy and respectful attention to your concerns matter to me.

How does treatment work?

Suited to each stage of healing.

01

Understand the operation

Clarify the procedure, timing, progress and medical instructions.

02

Assessing the tissues

Assess swelling, bruising, skin, scars and mobility.

03

Focused treatment

Select manual techniques, movement and compression.

04

Support progress

Observe the response and adapt treatment intensity.

Scar and fascial therapy.

After surgery, the scar and surrounding tissue may feel sensitive or tight and glide less freely. I also assess the fascia, the connective tissue layers around muscles and other structures. Scar and fascial therapy.

Where appropriate, I use carefully dosed tissue mobilisation and stretching techniques alongside adapted movement. Local scar work begins only after full wound closure and when the tissue can tolerate it. Surgical instructions determine which areas and loads are permitted.

Potential benefits

Respect healing. Support recovery.

The aim is to ease swelling and tension where possible and support comfortable movement. What can be achieved depends on your findings and stage of healing; we review progress together.
